Preparing a Second Source for Wipes and Microfibre Cloths

If your main supplier missed a shipment, how ready would your second source actually be?

For cleaning wipes and microfibre cloths, I would check more than a backup quotation:

• Has the product been evaluated for its intended task?

• Are the specifications and packaging agreed?

• Are the trial quantity and production lead time workable?

• What still needs approval before an order can be placed?

An approved sample is useful, but I would also clarify what a small trial needs to prove—and how the results will be reviewed.

My view: a benchmark is a starting point. The next step is understanding what it would take to turn that comparison into a workable supply option.

That preparation can happen while the existing supplier relationship continues.

What usually takes longest in your approval process: product testing, packaging, or internal sign-off?
